No Game No Life (ノーゲーム・ノーライフ Nōgēmu Nōraifu) is a light novel series by Yuu Kamiya and is published by under the MF Bunko J imprint; six novels were released between April 25, 2012 and April 25, 2014. The author and his wife, Mashiro Hiiragi, adapted the novels into a manga series for Monthly Comic Alive in 2013. Later that year, an anime adaption of No Game No Life by Madhouse was announced and was broadcast between April and July 2014. Companies began licensing the series for North American release in 2014. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga, Sentai Filmworks the anime, and Yen Press the light novel series; Crunchyroll simulcasted the anime with subtitles in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to North America and several other regions. No Game No Life's plot follows Sora and his younger sister Shiro, two gaming prodigies who are brought into a reality which is centered around games. The two decide to further their reputation as the undefeated gamers and seek to win against the god of their new reality.
